# ByteCleaner

> Developer disk cleaner for macOS. It scans 17 categories, from Xcode Derived Data to node_modules, lists every item it finds with its path and size, and moves them to the Trash only with the user's approval.

ByteCleaner is an independent macOS app published at bytecleaner.app. It offers English and Turkish interfaces and runs on macOS 14 and later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Its audience is iOS, macOS, Android and JavaScript developers.

## Core principles

- Scans first: nothing is deleted before the user sees it. Every item is listed with its path, size and last used date.
- Risk labeled: every category is marked Safe, Rebuildable or Caution.
- Moves to the Trash: nothing is permanently deleted by default, everything can be restored.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is my data safe?
ByteCleaner only scans known cache and derived data locations; your source code and documents are out of scope. Deletion always happens with your selection and your approval, and the default target is the Trash. Even so, reviewing what you delete remains your responsibility.

### Is there a subscription?
No. The core app is free forever; Pro is a one time purchase that also covers future Pro features.

### What happens after cleaning?
Caches are rebuilt when they are needed; the first build or package install may take a little longer. That is exactly what the "Rebuildable" label tells you.

### Which categories does ByteCleaner scan?

### Can I undo what I deleted?
